Round-leaved tea-tree
The size and quality of this plant’s flowers are spectacular during the spring – they can have a diameter of up to 2.5 cm. If the season is hot and dry, the flowers might only last for a few weeks, but can last much longer in optimal conditions.
Also called Leptospermum rotundifolium, the small leaves of this large shrub give off an aromatic perfume when bruised. It is endemic to New South Wales, however has become naturalised in a small part of Western Australia.
Take the Heath Trail in the Booderee Botanic Gardens to see this in flower in the spring, along with an array other heath flowers.
