Booderee National Park recently welcomed Her Excellency, the Governor-General of Australia.

Governor-General Mostyn toured the Park’s Aboriginal-owned Botanic Gardens, guided by knowledgeable Booderee Rangers, AJ Van Oploo, Jordan Roberts and Brandon Green.

During the visit, the Governor-General was given the opportunity to learn about bush tucker, traditional practices that have been passed down through generations of Traditional Owners and the cultural significance of Booderee to the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community.

The Governor-General led meaningful discussions with Booderee National Park rangers, Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community Council (WBACC) staff and Traditional Owners on the Booderee National Park Board of Management.

This visit reinforced the ongoing connection to Country and the shared stewardship of this culturally rich landscape.
