Djungga Kultural Day Tour
Spend time exploring the magnificent botanic gardens of Booderee National Park with tour guide Bernie McLeod and his family. Along the way, you will hear traditional stories of Yuin and Dharawal Country, learn about medicinal plants and bush foods, and gain insight into the history and cultural significance of the Bherwerre people of Wreck Bay. The tour showcases rich Aboriginal culture and offers outstanding views across the Yuin and Dharawal Nations on the South Coast of New South Wales.
Bernie and the Djungga Kultural Tours staff and family proudly encourage people of all cultures to participate in walks and tours on Wandi Wandian and Dharawal Country, providing opportunities to learn, explore, and experience the world’s oldest living culture through their eyes.
Duration: 2.5 hours
Distance: 0.5 km – 1.3 km, mostly flat ground.
What to Bring :
- Comfortable shoes, water bottle, sun protection and hat.
- Check the weather on the day to wear suitable clothing.

Services:
Djungga Kultural Tours offers immersive experiences designed to educate corporate groups and individuals about Aboriginal culture. Our offerings include full-day and half-day corporate packages featuring Welcome to Country ceremonies, cultural discussions, guided bushwalks through Booderee National Park, and traditional foods.
Daily tours are also available for smaller groups and include a range of activities such as beach walks and cultural workshops.
We also run a unique two-day camp, Bherwerre Boys-to-Men, for Indigenous high school boys, focusing on cultural mentorship, leadership, and personal development. Across all programs, our aim is to provide genuine insights into our culture, heritage, and connection to Country.
Bio:
Bernie McLeod is a proud Yuin/Monaro/Kamilaroi man with over 30 years of experience, supported by nine generations of cultural teachings passed down through both past and present generations.
Bernie and the Djungga Kultural Tours staff and family proudly encourage people of all cultures to participate in walks and tours on Yuin/Wandi-Wandian Country, providing opportunities to learn, explore, and experience the world’s oldest living culture through their eyes.
Bernie also has extensive knowledge of Natural and Cultural Heritage Management through his many years of employment at Booderee National Park. Bernie is a third-generation employee of Booderee National Park, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, who were also employed at the park.
